What I’ve Learned About HOA Dues

A low HOA due isn’t always a good thing. It can signal an underfunded association, which raises the odds of special assessments or sharp dues increases later. In my experience, many communities are underfunded, so I always compare dues against the reserve study and the age of the building.

Building age matters too. Older condo buildings, especially taller ones with elevators and more complex systems, tend to carry the highest fees.
